Temple of Saint Basil on the Hill (1413) - perhaps the most famous architectural monument of the XV-XVI centuries. The church is located on the Basil Hill, not far from the October Avenue. Hill, which overlooks picturesque temple, surrounded by green trees, in ancient times represented as a small island in the middle of a vast swamp. At the foot of the hill brook pupil, now turned into a Pushkin street. In 1375 the bank of the stream was constructed wall of the Middle of the city. It took place just outside the church, and immediately there was a tower, with a view of the distant space. On the tower bell hung siege, in 1581 alerted the residents of the offensive Stefan Batory Foundation.
